About Us

Guided by Artistic Director Dr. François Koh and President Sophia Cho, Salon de Musique is a Toronto-based cultural collective dedicated to the living art of chamber music and chamber orchestration. We unite distinguished instrumentalists in a shared commitment to artistic rigor, acoustic clarity, and emotional resonance.
Our Story
Founded in early 2024, Salon de Musique began as an intimate chamber series—inaugurated with a classical guitar solo on February 19, 2024, followed by six acclaimed presentations exploring cello, violin, flute, and piano. Building on this artistic foundation, our footprint is expanding across Ontario, including community and regional outreach into the Greater Brantford Area.
Symphonic Evolution: Orchestre Salon de Musique
Far beyond background or occasional entertainment, our programming treats string and chamber literature as a living architectural dialogue. Expanding our intimate core into a vibrant chamber orchestra, we proudly introduce Orchestre Salon de Musique, premiering its inaugural concert on October 3, 2026.

Our Story
At the beginning of 2023, Dr. François Koh and Sophia Cho launched the intimate chamber concert series "Salon de Musique" aiming to bring high-quality music to audiences. They inaugurated the series with a classical guitar solo concert on February 14, followed by five more performances featuring cello, violin, and piano through December 2024. The guest artists are all highly qualified classical musicians, and together with Dr. Koh, they perform a repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to popular music. This success has inspired them to bring their performances to a wider audience.
